The Onslow-Belmont Fire Brigade is an organization dedicated to saving lives and protecting property through fire prevention, suppression and public education.
Organized in 1961, Onslow-Belmont Fire Brigade provides fire protection to over 1,600 homes and businesses in the Onslow, Belmont, Lower Onslow, Crowes Mills and Masstown areas.
The Brigade currently has 56 active firefighters with a total membership of 92. Membership in addition to active firefighters, includes Honourary, Retired, Junior and Support members.
In 2008, the Brigade answered 153 emergency calls. Included in these calls were 6 structure fires, 3 motor vehicle fires, 29 motor vehicle accidents, 11 mutual aid calls, 79 medical first responses, 6 flu fires, 7 grass or brush fires and 12 miscellaneous calls.
Onslow-Belmont Fire Brigade is a Volunteer Brigade. Members are not paid – they volunteer their time, energy and talents to make our communities a safer place in which to live. They save lives and property and promote safety.
